Genesis 1:20-23

These crafts were so cute! The fish in the sea and the birds in the sky! We almost got carried away and forgot to do the lessons too- ha-ha!

I hope you enjoy it too!

1. The Story

GOD Created the World: Day 5

Today we are going to speak about the very special things GOD created on Day 5! But let’s remember what happened on the first few days.

Remember on the very first day, GOD created light, the next day GOD created the wonderful sky, and placed all the water on Earth. Oh, and then on day 3, GOD took all the waters and gathered it into the seas, lakes, rivers and waterfalls-remember? On day 3 GOD also made aaaalll the types of plants, grass, trees and forests. And on day 4, GOD created the sun, moon and stars.

Now we are going to talk about day five! Oh, day 5 was a VERY special day! GOD created the first animals!!

First GOD created the sea creatures in the sea! Little fish, big whales, sharks even crabs walking at the bottom on the sea floor!

Then GOD created alllll the birds, big eagles and small cute hummingbirds. Beautifully coloured parrots and black birds like crows! All these birds GOD created on day five!

So for the whole day on day 5 of creation, the earth only had sea creatures and birds in the sky! No other animals, how crazy is that?

3. Craft

All crafts’ methods are above in the video and all FREE templates are below.

Every craft we do is done as a concrete resource to help your child understand abstract concepts. So in the middle of having fun making the crafts, we drive home those abstract concepts (;

4. Lesson

Let’s do some learning (:

Remember although our lessons are divided into three themes, there are many times that concepts will overlap the three themes below.

Before I continue, let’s keep in mind that all lessons CAN BE ADJUSTED to the child’s age and cognitive readiness. For me personally, I have toddlers-so that’s the level I focus on. Please enjoy the FREE printable below to help you optimize your child’s learning

Literacy

Below is the WORD-FOR-WORD Literacy lesson and/or related resources!

This is the third lesson of a Literacy Programme that will teach your TODDLER to read in 20 days

Numeracy

There was a little game that I created for Literacy lessons, but it came in quite nicely in Numeracy too. We simply swapped out the phonics for numbers. It is a really neat way to boost differentiation and recognizing the different numbers.

We also used the beads of the octopus to make patterns

i.e.

First she copied my patterns: green bead, blue bead, blue bead, green bead

Then we moved onto verbal instruction: one green bead, then 2 blue beads

Life Skills

In this lesson we explored the different habitats of fish and of birds. We spoke about the life cycle of sharks, chickens and peguins.

We touched on collective nouns

i.e. a school of fish

a clutch of eggs

We ended our day collecting a few sticks, moss and the like, to make our own nest.

As always a toddler’s mind can take you off-guard, and she literally thought the nest was for a real bird. So, heads-up she became really upset that no real birds actually came to take up keep in the nest she made them. But a successful lesson all-in-all

GOD bless you and your loved ones!
